Counselling & Psychotherapy in Bristol BS16

Meet Alex
Hi, I’m Alex — a BACP-registered counsellor based in Bristol, working between BS1 and BS16. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, and life transitions. I often support young adults, men, and people in creative fields who are facing the pressures and challenges of work, life, and self-expression.
With a background in the creative industries, I have a particular interest in supporting artists, writers, and others whose personal expression, identity, and self-worth can feel closely intertwined with their work.

My work with men is informed by the reality that masculinity today is often both challenged and expected at the same time. I also work with new fathers adjusting to parenthood, and with people experiencing the loneliness that can come with isolation.
I take an approach that blends person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential perspectives. Together, we might explore how past experiences and relationships shape your present, how to cope with a fast-moving and often overwhelming world, or the deeper questions that arise around meaning, belonging, and the future.
Therapy can offer space to challenge hardship, patterns, and pressures, and to tackle the shame that comes with trying to be everything we’ve been taught to expect of ourselves. Whatever you’re facing, I believe it can also offer connection, insight, and the possibility of real change.
